MIDORI — Inspired by the Greens of Japan
Inspired by the aesthetics of the 1950s and reimagined with a contemporary sensibility, RESTA is a mechanical watch assembled in Japan.
Now, RESTA welcomes a new colour inspired by the quiet beauty of the Japanese landscape: MIDORI.
In Japan, green exists in countless shades.
The deep green of a moss-covered garden.
The stillness of a forest layered with trees.
Leaves that shift in colour as the light moves across them.
The dial of MIDORI draws inspiration from these quiet, profound greens found throughout the Japanese landscape.
Rather than pursuing brightness alone, we wanted to create a green with depth — one that reveals different expressions depending on the light and viewing angle. The sunray finish brings this idea to life, shifting from deep, subdued tones to vivid green as it catches the light.
A Green That Changes with the Light
The sunray green dial is paired with warm gold-tone hands and indexes.
Under direct light, the dial comes alive with a vivid green glow. In softer light, it settles into a darker, more restrained shade.
Much like the Japanese landscape itself, its character changes subtly with the light.
Distinctive without being overpowering, MIDORI brings colour to the wrist while remaining refined enough for everyday wear.
Green Lizard-Embossed Leather
MIDORI is paired with a deep green lizard-embossed leather strap, whose fine texture adds a distinctly classical character.
By combining the green dial and strap in a single tonal palette, we created a look unique to MIDORI — rich in colour, yet understated in character.
The strap is fitted with a butterfly deployant clasp, designed to reduce unnecessary bending of the leather while allowing smooth and comfortable fastening on the wrist.
1950s Aesthetics in a 36mm Case
One of RESTA’s defining details is its playful Breguet-style (lollipop) hour hand.
Inspired by vintage watches and reinterpreted through the design language of MONOGRIIS, it brings a subtle point of character to an otherwise restrained dial.
The case measures 36mm in diameter.
Its compact proportions recall the elegance of 1950s dress watches, sitting naturally on a wide range of wrists without unnecessary presence.
While many contemporary watches feature relatively straight lugs, RESTA takes a different approach. Its softly raised, sculpted lugs create distinctive highlights and shadows as they catch the light, giving the case a character of its own.

Vintage Character, Modern Materials
The case itself measures approximately 10.5mm thick, or approximately 13.9mm including the box-shaped sapphire crystal.
Its deliberate depth and rounded profile evoke the warmth and dimensional character of watches — and even pocket watches — from the 1950s.
The front is fitted with a scratch-resistant box-shaped sapphire crystal, combining vintage-inspired proportions with the durability expected from a modern watch.
A sapphire exhibition caseback offers a clear view of the mechanical movement within.
Japanese Mechanical Movement
At the heart of MIDORI is the Japanese-made MIYOTA Cal. 8N40 automatic movement.
Powered by the movement of the wrist, it offers approximately 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Unlike a battery-powered watch, a mechanical watch comes to life through the interaction of its individual components — a small mechanical world that can be observed through the sapphire caseback.
The strap also features quick-release spring bars, allowing it to be changed easily without specialised tools.
