It's a question we hear from time to time.

Today, watches over 40mm have become the norm, and larger case sizes continue to dominate the market.

So why did we deliberately choose 36mm for the RESTA?

Not because we wanted to recreate a vintage watch exactly as it was.

Not because we wanted to go against modern trends.

We chose 36mm because we wanted to create a watch that people would naturally reach for every morning—not just today, but ten years from now.

Watch Sizes Have Always Changed

During the 1950s and 1960s, most wristwatches measured between 34mm and 36mm.

As dive watches and sports watches gained popularity, case sizes gradually became larger.

40mm.

42mm.

And eventually even bigger.

Larger watches certainly have their advantages. They offer strong wrist presence, excellent legibility, and a sporty appearance.

But when designing RESTA, we asked ourselves a different question:

What size feels right for everyday life?

It's About Balance, Not Numbers

A watch is never defined by its case diameter alone.

The length of the lugs.

The width of the bezel.

The dial opening.

The thickness of the case.

All of these elements work together to determine how a watch actually wears on the wrist.

Although RESTA measures 36mm, it was carefully designed to provide enough presence while remaining elegant and comfortable.

It slips naturally under a shirt cuff, pairs effortlessly with a T-shirt, and never feels oversized.

Our goal wasn't to make the smallest watch.

It was to create the most balanced one.

A Size That Works for More People

We don't believe 36mm belongs exclusively to men—or to women.

We believe it simply belongs to people who appreciate proportion.

It wears comfortably on smaller wrists while remaining refined on larger ones.

It works equally well with business attire and casual clothing.

Instead of designing for a specific gender or age group, we designed RESTA to fit naturally into everyday life.
