Origins

MONOGRIIS was born in Osaka, Japan in 2018.

Osaka has long been a city shaped by craftsmanship, commerce, and independent makers. That environment became part of who we are from the very beginning.

We started by creating fashion watches — bold, casual pieces designed to stand out and express personality. At the time, we believed a watch should feel exciting the moment you put it on.

But over the years, our perspective began to change.

We found ourselves asking a simpler, deeper question:

What makes a watch worth wearing every day?

Not just for a season.
Not just for social media.
But for years.

In 2025, we decided to rebuild MONOGRIIS from the ground up.

Not because we lost our direction —
but because we finally understood it more clearly.

We no longer wanted to create watches that only looked good online.
We wanted to create watches people would naturally reach for every morning.
Watches that feel just as right at 25 as they do at 50.
Watches that quietly become part of someone's life.

That decision led us back to what inspired us in the first place:
Japanese craftsmanship and mechanical watchmaking.

Today, MONOGRIIS focuses on Japanese-made mechanical watches assembled and refined in Japan with careful attention to detail.

To us, “Made in Japan” is not simply a label.
It is a commitment to precision, consistency, and long-term responsibility for what we create.

Our goal has remained the same since day one:
to put something meaningful on your wrist.

Only now, we understand that meaning more deeply.
